General Information (aka what exactly is Rush?) [top]

Rush is the time of the semester where we focus on recruiting new students interested in community service. We hold our Rush during the first few weeks of both Fall and Spring semesters. We plan many fun and interesting activities during this time. It is a great opportunity for interested students to learn more about APO. All our events throughout the semester are open to the entire CWRU campus, but Rush activities are specifically designed for students new to APO.

At the end of Rush we hold two Inductions into the pledge program. This is the first step to becoming a member of APO. You do not need to attend Rush activities to be inducted, but they are a great way to learn about our chapter.

"Meet and Greet" Info Sessions
Informal, sit-down gatherings where we will discuss who we are, what we do, and why we do it. These are great opportunities to learn about APO and meet others interested in community service.

Inductions
The only thing a student needs to do to become a pledge is attend one of our Induction ceremonies in Febuary. We hope to see you there!

Steps to joining APO [top]

  • Attend Rush Events: APO holds a series of Rush events at the beginning of each semester which are designed to give everyone interested an overview of a typical semester with APO. Attendance at Rush events is not mandatory to join APO, but we feel it helps to attend at least one event in order to get an idea what we are all about.
  • Attend Pledge Induction: Anyone interested in APO may attend a Pledge Induction Ceremony to become an APO Pledge Member. Two Pledge Induction Ceremonies are held at the beginning of each semester during Rush. Please see above for dates.
  • Complete the Pledge Program: The Pledge Program is a 7-9 week program designed to teach pledges the principles and history of APO. If you would like more details about the Pledge Program please attend any Rush event or speak to any APO member.
  • Attend Initiation: The Initiation ceremony is the culmination of the Pledge Program and one of the most important times of the year for APO as we welcome new members into the brotherhood.

The best part of being a brother is: Finding a friendly face everywhere I turn on campus!
